ADELAIDE DAVIS

(1861 – 1940)

Miss Davis was born September 26, 1861, in Lynn, Massachusetts. Adelaide died December 24, 1940 and was interred December 27 in a family plot purchased by James Boiseau. The connection with the Boiseau family has not as yet been established.

Miss Davis was a recognized leader having contributed much to the progress of our schools during the long period of her service as principal and supervisory officer. In the councils of the superintendent Miss Davis displayed marked professional ability and sound judgment. In the supervision and leadership of her teachers, her influence was felt in the effectiveness of classroom instruction in her schools. In the communities where she labored she won the esteem and confidence of school patrons. Miss Davis retired in 1929 after 46 years of service.
