Why should our tears in sorrow flow,
When God recalls his own.
And bids them leave a world of woe,
For an immortal crown.

Then, let our sorrows cease to flow,
God has recalled his own;
But let our hearts, in every woe,
Still say, "Thy will be done."
His funeral will take place from the residence of his son, 1352 C street, southwest, Sunday, June 1, at 2:30 p.m. Religious exercises at Ryland Church, at the corner of Tenth and D streets southwest, at 3 p.m., to which his friends are respectfully invited.   Stahl, Lucinda d. 7 Feb 1873 R 23 S 229
Stahl. On the evening of the 7th inst., at 306 13th street southwest, Lucinda Stahl, wife of John Stahl, formerly of Harper's Ferry, aged 56. In her last conversation there was no hesitancy in expressions of the glorious hope enjoyed in her heart. The simple truth, precious Savior, was that upon which she relied, and whenon the very verge of the grave she seemed confident of a happy immortality. Oh! the high, the sublime privilege of the follower of Jesus! Who carefully portray it? What language can tell of that power, not attainable from human philosophy, which gives strength to a feeble female, surpassing that which marks the so-called hero on fields of blood? What is it that enables her to say. "All is well," as she bids farewell to husband and children, exhorting them to meet her where disease shall never afflict? Nothing but the faith of the Gospel. Our mother has left a husband and three children to mourn a loss which is her gain. They are all in the enjoyment of the same religion which caused the mother's triumph, and thus the whole family will be made a reunited and happy circle in the kingdom of glory?

The funeral will take place at Ryland Chapel on Sunday at 3 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend (Charlestown Free Press and Baltimore Sun copy).
