Simms, Ann d. 27 Oct 1858 67 yrs. R 75 S 107
Simms. On the evening of the 27th instant, Mrs. Ann Simms, in the 68th year of her age. The deceased had been for 30 years a consistent member of the Baptist Church in Alexandria and Washington, and was truly an example of the vital influences of religion, as well in the cheerful submission with which every trial was met, as in the blessed hope which it is at once the privilege and duty of the Christian to cherish. Through much suffering she reached the term of life, dying as she had lived, calmly, meekly, trustingly; and has left to her children, whom she loved tenderly, as she was tenderly loved in return, the well grounded assurance that the event which they mourn was to her but the dawn of a holy and happy immortality.

The funeral will take place from the residence of her daughter, on D street, near the corner of 11th, Island, on Saturday, the 29th, at 2 o'clock p.m. Friends are respectfully invited to attend. (Alexandria Gazette will please copy).
