From Anne Heider Baker: Orena M. Berry was born in Virginia. Rena, as her family called her, married around 1852 Richard H. Rountree, son of Littleberry Rountree and Sarah Vaughn. She and Richard had five children: Joseph Washington, Sarah A., James T., Richard and Hamet B. Richard, her husband, died in 1863. After the Civil War, Orena moved her family from Richmond to Washington, DC. She worked as a dressmaker to support herself and the children. She died of broncho-pneumonia on 27 January 1910.
