Merten, Viola E. On Thursday, June 17, 1982, of Washington, D.C., at Sibley Hospital wife of the late Charles Merten; mother of the late Walter Clements; sister of Mrs. Edith M. McNerney. She also is survived by four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services will be held at Pumphrey's Bethesda Chevy Chase Funeral Home, 757 Wisconsin ave., Bethesda, Md., Saturday, June 19 at 1 p.m. Interment Congressional Cemetery.
