|McKechnie, John||d. 21 May 1861||R 26 S 229|
McNechnie. On the morning of the 21st, John, youngest son of Neil and Mary McKechnie.
Go to thy rest, my child,
Go to thy dreamless bed,
Gentle, meek, and mild,
With blessings on thy head;
Fresh roses in thy hand,
Buds on thy pillow laid,
Haste from this fearful land,
Where flowers so quickly fade.
The friends and relatives of the family are invited to the funeral, tomorrow afternoon, without further notice.
|McKechnie, Mary M.||d. 30 Jan 1863||27 yrs.||R 26 S 229|
McKechnie. On the 30th inst., Mary, wife of Neil McKechnie, in the 28th year of her age.
Husband, dear, weep not for me;
I am not yours, but Christ's alone--
He loved me best and took me home.
Mother, dear, weep not for Mary;
Her gentle spirit hast fled;
She sweetly sleeps in Jesus,
Among the silent dead.
Dear sisters and brothers, shed not a tear
Around my silent tomb;
Think of the lovely flower
We have in Heaven to bloom.
Her funeral will take place from the residence of her husband, 26th and M sts., on Sunday, the 1st inst., at 2 o'clock p.m., which her friends and those of the family are invited to attend.
