Alone at the close of a Summer's day
Thy soul was freed from its fettered clay,

Lee. At eight minutes before 5 o'clock this morning, at his residence in the city of Baltimore, in the 54th year of his age, the Hon. Zaccheus Collins Lee, Judge of the Supreme Court of that city. This melancholy event will sadden many hearts in Washington, where Judge Lee had long resided before his removal to Baltimore. He was a gentleman of high integrity and honor, of a kind heart, of fine talents, and had acquired an extensive reputation as an eloquent and effective public speaker. For some months before his death, his health had been impaired; but the immediate illness which proved fatal was of only a few days' duration. He has been taken from us in the prime of life, and in the midst of a career of public usefulness, to the deep affliction of his bereaved family and friends, and the regrets of the community of which he was an esteemed and honored member.
