May the bereaved father and friends be supported in this the hour of their darkness by a merciful Providence which alone can give strength to bear and resignation to submit to the Divine will, knowing, as we do, that all is well ordered and right. Ellis. At his residence, near the Navy Yard, in this City, on Monday, the 22d instant, Mr. Samuel B. Ellis, in the 52d year of his age. The deceased was a native of Leeds, England, and for a number of years employed as Steam Engineer in the naval establishment at this place. He has left a disconsolate widow and three children to mourn this awful, and to them, unexpected event. His remains were interred in the burial ground of Christ Church, with Masonic honors, and followed by a numerous body of his fellow-citizens.
