Clift. On the 23d instant, at 12 1/2 o'clock a.m., after a short and painful illness, Mrs. Eliza R. Clift, in the 19th year of her age. A native of King George county, Va. There's a tear that flows when we part From a mother whose loss we moan There's a tear that flows from the half broken heart When we know she will never return. Clift. On July 31st, 1885, at 5:17 p.m., of congestion of the brain, James Claude Clift, the only beloved child of Adelia Clift, aged 12 years 4 months and 22 days, grandson of James and Emma Burdine. Death’s cruel dart has pierced our heart And bowed us down with grief, And beneath the silent sod Our darling Jenny sleeps. Oh Jenny must we give thee up, You who we loved so well; How can we drink this bitter cup And say a last, last farewell. By a Friend Rest in Jesus; the patient sufferer.
